The Hood River

The Hood River flows from the Northern slopes of Mount Hood through a forested canyon before meeting with the Columbia River. There are several sections of the Hood River open to rafting and kayaking.

The Lower Hood River

The Lower Hood begins at Tucker Bridge and flows 5 miles into the town of the town of Hood River. This is a great beginner run with continuous Class II/III rapids. There are two wonderful Class III rapids at the site of the old Copper Dam.

The Main Hood River

Your put in on the East Fork at Dee and float a few miles to the confluence with the West Fork of the Hood. From here it's about 5 miles of Class II/III rapids before ending with a 5 awesome Class IV rapids next to Tucker Park.

The West Fork of the Hood River

The West Fork of the Hood has the best Class IV rapids in the Columbia Gorge. It flows 5 miles through beautiful forest and 2 basalt gorges. You put in on the Lake Branch of the Hood and float 100 yards to the West Fork. There is a fish ladder about half way down that is a mandatory portage. You take out just above the unrunnable Punchbowl Falls or at medium flows you can line the falls and continue down the Main Hood River.
